Previously Published Work Policy
Eligibility, submission, and presentation requirements for previously published work presented at Cross-AI.
This policy is part of the Submission Guidelines.
Cross-AI welcomes previously published work for presentation only. Previously published work is presented at the conference but is not republished in the proceedings.
Eligibility
- Peer-reviewed venues. The work must have been published in a peer-reviewed journal or conference. Preprints (such as arXiv), technical reports, theses, and other non-peer-reviewed publications are not eligible.
- Publication date. The work must have been published within the two years before the first day of the event at which it is presented.
Submission
Previously published work is submitted as an abstract submission, following the submission format and deadlines in the Submission Guidelines.
- Revised abstract. Up to 300 words, revised from the original rather than copied exactly from the published version.
- DOI link. The DOI link to the original journal or conference publication.
- Review. The work is identified by its DOI link and is reviewed single-blind.
Presentation
The work is presented through a pre-recorded presentation video, with a live Q&A if selected for oral presentation. Authors may link to an existing recording from the original conference instead of recording a new video. New recordings must state that the presentation is based on the original publication.
Publication
Previously published work is non-archival: it is not published in the proceedings, and the abstract is posted on the conference platform only, not in the Cross-AI non-archival repository. Existing recordings linked from the schedule remain on their original sites and are not hosted on the conference platform.
One Cross-AI Event
Each work may be presented at no more than one Cross-AI event, such as the symposium, a workshop, or a frontier session. Work submitted to more than one Cross-AI event is desk-rejected.
Previously published work that meets this policy does not violate prior-submission policies under the Research Integrity Policy.
Permissions
Authors are responsible for ensuring that presenting the work, and any reuse of its figures, text, or existing recordings, is permitted by the original publisher’s copyright and license terms.
Use of AI
The AI Usage Policy applies to the materials prepared for this conference, such as the revised abstract and the presentation video. AI use in the original publication is governed by the policies of the venue where it was published.
